Technology funding application-readiness checklist

The best time to organise evidence is before a programme deadline creates pressure.

Commercial case

Name the user, the current workaround and the cost of the problem. Record interviews and distinguish a polite expression of interest from a purchase commitment. Explain why the proposed technology changes the workflow rather than simply adding software.

Technical case

State what already works, what remains uncertain and how the project will test it. Keep architecture diagrams, test results, data rights and intellectual-property ownership available. If a supplier owns a core component, explain the dependency.

Budget and governance

Separate payroll, equipment, external services, marketing and normal overhead. Collect comparable quotations where required and document how suppliers were selected. Assign one person to milestones, evidence and correspondence.

Final conflict check

List other public funding, cloud credits, university support and investor restrictions. The same expense or project phase may not be funded twice. Ask the operator in writing when treatment is unclear.
